Pamlico River Promenade on Stewart Parkway (30 minutes)
The city of Washington recently completed renovations to its waterfront. Enjoy the scenery and your daily exercise on this .74 mile walk.
North Carolina Estuarium (2 ½ hours)
At the end of this walk you will find the North Carolina Estuarium. The Estuarium features many hands-on exhibits, a film, a peek into the history of the Pamlico-Tar River region, and a fantastic gift shop with regional arts and gifts. An estuary is defined as where the river meets the sea. This is an educational and entertaining attraction. If the season is right, plan to enjoy a one-hour River Roving cruise to see and learn more about the natural landscape that surrounds you.

Depart for Goose Creek State Park at 12:45 pm. Arrive at 1 pm.
Goose Creek State Park (3 ½ hours)
Nature beckons you to experience the mysterious wonders of marsh and swamp along the borders of the Pamlico River and Goose Creek. Visitors can canoe the unhurried creeks, fish on the shores of the Pamlico River or learn more about wetlands at the Environmental Education Visitor Center. Birders and hikers are welcome. There are over eight miles of well-marked hiking trails, allowing visitors to wind their way through the park and view nature at its best.
Return to hotel at 4:30 pm. Arrive at 4:45 pm.
